Richard "Fresh Air Dick" Janson Pintail Pair
Very rare rig mate pair of solid redwood pintails by Richard “Fresh Air Dick” Janson (Sonoma, CA) ca. 1940s. The hen is all original with wear to the top of the head and left side of the bill. The drake is mostly original with an old second coat to the white areas. Janson would routinely use a skeg for his diver decoys. It is uncommon to see dabbling ducks with a skeg. See page 110 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. The drake measures 17.5” and the hen is 16.5” in length.
