Richard "Fresh Air Dick" Janson Bluebill Hen
Exceedingly rare solid carved bluebill hen by Richard “Fresh Air Dick” Janson (Sonoma, CA) ca. 1930s. Black light inspection reveals no later repaint on this rare decoy. However, I suspect that an overpaint may have been removed at some point to reveal the original surface. Note the stable neck crack. See page 160 of Richard “Fresh Air Dick” Janson by Wallace Lourdeaux. Measures 14.5” in length. I’ve only offered three Janson bluebills in approximately 20 years.
