Solid carved redhead pair by Mike Bucklin (Webbs Island, VA and Bury, Quebec). Excellent all original paint and lightly used condition. Bucklin's decoys demonstrate his extraordinary skill as both a carver and painter. All of his decoys are made "from scratch". He carved them with chainsaw, hatchet, files, knives and sandpaper from trees he felled on his farm in Quebec. Bucklin's work is documented in Quebec Decoys, The Essential by Pierre Fidiadis as well Sculpteures D' Appelants Du Quebec by Francois St-Onge. Also see the Bucklin article in the May/June 2023 issue of Decoy Magazine. From Bucklin's personal hunting rig and Branded JMB. Bucklin's carving days ended upon his death in late 2021. Each measures approximately 13.5" in length.
