Hollow carved standard grade pintail drake from the Evans Decoy Company (Ladysmith, WI) ca. 1920s. This example is in the “dark style” paint as shown on page 66 of Evans Decoys by Andy Schoneich and Terry Smart. Measures nearly 18” in length. Black light inspection shows the white on the lower sides, chest, bottom and up the neck to have paint strengthening. The remainder (head, back and tail) of this example is in good and original paint. Retains the EVANS ink stamp on the bottom.
