D. Davidson (attrib.) Wigeon Drake

$1,950.00

I’m of the opinion that the examples attributed to either D. Davidson or C. Barlach are among the finest in construction and style found on the west coast. Very hollow carved redwood with superb structural style. There is only a small rig of wigeon and green-winged teal by this maker that are traced to the Black Point area on the north shore of San Pablo Bay. These decoys are circa 1920s. This exact example is depicted in a large photograph on page 144 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Paint has in use wear and is all original. Measures nearly 13” in length.
