Art Deco Rig Pintail Drake
These finely carved solid redwood pintails have been dubbed “Art Deco Rig” due to their deep relief carving of the wing and tail feathers reminding one of the genre. They are circa 1920s and could be from the Vallejo area. See page 176 of Wildfowl Decoys of California for more information on these lovely early pintails. This example is in good and original paint. The tip of the tail is cracked but stable. It has been lightly hit by shot on the sides and head. Measures 16.5” in length.
